This 10 day mobile camping safari begins with three nights on the remote Chief’s Island in the Delta. From there you will visit some of the best wildlife areas of northern Botswana.

You’ll spend three nights in the world famous Moremi Game Reserve, and two nights in the Savute area of the Chobe National Park, ending with two nights in the wildlife-dense Chobe Riverfront area.

You’ll experience the luxury of being in the Okavango Delta, while having the flexibility and excitement that comes with a fully serviced, comfortable mobile safari. Self-sufficient and self-contained, mobile camping is the ultimate family safari experience which will be a highlight for any family and will be talked about for years to come.

Day 1, 2 & 3: OKAVANGO DELTA (Oddball’s Camp)
From Maun International Airport, we will transfer by light aircraft to the remote Chief’s Island and Oddballs’ Camp. Oddballs’ is situated on the edge of Chief’s Island, deep in the heart of the Okavango, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. On arrival, you are met at the airstrip by your personal guide and welcomed to the island. He remains your guide for the duration of your stay.

Oddballs’ Camp is perfect for a family safari. It is geared towards family holidays as all activities are done on a private basis. You know your children and as you will not be doing any excursions in the company of other guests you have only yourselves to consider, and rest stops for the kids can take as long as needed.

Accommodation is in simple, comfortable canvas 3m x 3m rooms (including two family units) set on elevated wooden decks, each with a view of the surrounding bush, and shaded by canvas shelters. Each tent has its own rustic en-suite facilities including hot and cold running water for the al fresco bucket shower – in true safari style.

The bar and lounge areas at Oddballs’ provide a great meeting place and somewhere to swap stories around the fire. There is a great raised viewing deck that overlooks the sweep of the Delta – the perfect vantage from which to watch the sun set over the palms and view whatever wildlife may be visiting.
Included meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 4 & 5: MOREMI GAME RESERVE (Mobile Safari)
On day four we will make our way to the Khwai area, situated on the northern border of Moremi Game Reserve by light aircraft. On the scenic flight, there is a good chance of seeing plenty of wildlife.

It is in Moremi that the waters of the Okavango meet the plains of the Kalahari Desert, creating a game-rich sanctuary of mopane forests, open grasslands, seasonal floodplains and riverine habitats. The Xakanaxa area offers amazing wildlife sightings and diverse mammal and bird life. You’ll have the chance of seeing lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, spotted hyena, wild dog, red lechwe, and an abundant array of birds during your time here.

Days will start early with a morning game drive, followed by a late brunch, siesta, tea and then an evening game drive. We’ll end each day sitting around a campfire under glorious African skies, reminiscing about the day that was. There’s nothing that compares to sleeping in a spacious tent, with en-suite bathroom, listening to the sounds of the African bush as you drift off.
Included meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 6 & 7: SAVUTI (Mobile Safari)
On day six we leave Moremi and head overland for the Savute region of the Chobe National Park, an area famous for its enormous concentrations of wildlife, especially its predators. You’ll have a high chance of seeing plenty of lion, leopard and spotted hyena here.

By the time you arrive with your guide and game-viewing vehicle, the camp will be set up, and your tents will be ready. You’ll spend your time in Savute exploring the area on day and night game drives, relaxing in camp with a good book, and eating delicious food under a canopy of stars. As always, experienced staff will be on hand to assist with anything you need.
Included meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner

Day 8 & 9: CHOBE RIVERFRONT (Mobile Safari)
Our last mobile camping destination is Chobe Riverfront, or Serondela, situated in the extreme north-east of Chobe National Park. This area rarely disappoints. It is home to an enormous array of mammal and bird life, and vast numbers of animals come down to drink from the river during the dry winter months. You can expect large herds of elephant and buffalo here, as well as sable and the rare puku. Birding is also excellent in this area.

The concentration of wildlife in this area can be overwhelming, and game drives almost always deliver some of the biggest herds of elephant and buffalo you’re ever likely to see. Days here will be spent taking in the spectacle, relaxing in camp, and enjoying your last few days on safari.
Included meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner

On day 10 we sadly pack up camp for the last time, and head to the town of Kasane where you will be dropped at the airport for your onward flight.
Included meals: breakfast
