While a magnificent bath with a view may not be the first thing you look for when planning an African safari, our list of our favourite baths in Southern Africa may just change your mind.

Could there be anything better than relaxing back into warm, sudsy water while staring out over the Okavango Delta?  Or how about lolling in a warm bath beneath a heavenly expanse of African night sky?

From rolling, open savannah, to wildlife-dotted plains, and the gentle lapping of the Indian Ocean, these are our top six bathtubs in Southern Africa.

1. Ruckomechi Camp, Mana Pools, Zimbabwe

3. Jacana Camp, Okavango Delta, Botswana

Located on a beautiful island in the Jao Concession in the Okavango Delta, Jacana Camp is surrounded by seasonally-inundated floodplains and papyrus swamps. You’ll look out over the Delta’s reeds and channels from your copper bathtub, and possibly spot an elephant meandering by.

4. Phinda Rock Lodge, South Africa
