ITINERARY
Day 1 – 3 TIMBAVATI PRIVATE GAME RESERVE – Tanda Tula Safari Camp
We begin our classic African safari with a transfer from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, and make our way to Tanda Tula Safari Camp.
This beautiful camp is positioned amongst enormous trees on the banks of the Nhlaralumi Riverbed, in the heart of the Timbavati Private Game Reserve. This area of the Greater Kruger National Park offers unquestionably some of the best Big Five game viewing around, and is an area renowned for its biodiversity and diverse landscapes.
Tanda Tula has some of the most highly trained guides and trackers in the business, and they will tailor game viewing experiences to your needs, offering informative, exciting and unique game viewing experiences.
And the game viewing in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve is exceptional! You will find an abundance of the big five (leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo) as well as hyena, honey badger, kudu, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, waterbuck, impala, warthog, and the critically endangered African wild dog.
The camp is completely unfenced, merging understated luxury with the natural environment. There are just 12 secluded, East African styled luxury tents, each with a breathtaking view over the riverbed. The tents are the epitome of simple luxury and comfort, mirroring the early tented camps of Africa. Each opulent tent features its own en-suite bathroom, Victorian bathtub, outdoor shower and a spacious deck overlooking the riverbed and African bush.
Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities (two game drives per day and an optional game walk), refreshments on game drives, mini bar in tent and laundry.
Day 4 – 6 SABI SANDS GAME RESERVE – Dulini River Lodge
After your morning game drive and breakfast, you will transfer to Dulini River Lodge (by road), in the acclaimed Sabi Sands Game Reserve.

Staying at Cape Grace is an experience in itself, melding the modern comforts of a Cape Town luxury hotel with traditional Cape culture. The hotel has an excellent location – the bustling V&A Waterfront – with Table Mountain towering over the hotel, a working harbour to one side, and a multi-millionaire yacht basin on the other.
The Cape Grace offers the perfect base from which to explore all Cape Town has to offer – from glorious beaches and forests, to hiking and mountain climbing, excellent fine dining, world renowned wine farms, markets and art galleries, and cosmopolitan nightlife.
Day eight is a full day Cape peninsula tour, which takes you to Cape Point along the scenic Atlantic seaboard coastal road. We will pass the pristine beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, and the formidable 12 Apostles Peaks. We make our way to Hout Bay, over Chapman’s Peak, which offers amazing photo opportunities, and onto the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This area is home to magnificent ‘fynbos’, many different species of antelope and birds, the Cape Mountain Zebra, and mischievous baboons.
We then visit Boulders Beach to see the African penguins, before arriving at the naval base of Simonstown, and then to our last stop of the day at the simply stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (own account +/-R60).
On day nine you will head out on a full day Cape Winelands tour, beginning with a photo stop on the way to Franschhoek at the Groot Drakenstein Prison where Nelson Mandela was released in February 1990.
We spend the rest of the day wine tasting in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch.
No visit to Cape Town is complete without an exploration of the mother city itself, so on our second last day in beautiful Cape Town we will explore the city on a half day city and Table Mountain tour.
Enjoy the incredible views from atop Table Mountain, and after descending, we take a scenic coastal drive through Camps Bay, Clifton and Sea Point. We drive past the Cape Town Stadium and through the V&A Waterfront to the city centre where we visit Green Market Square. We’ll stretch our legs with a walk through the Company Gardens.
The tour continues with a drive past the Houses of Parliament, the City Hall, The Castle and Slave Lodge, before entering the “Bo Kaap”, also known as the Malay quarter. Learn about the history of this area of brightly painted houses and quaint cobbled streets. We finish with a dazzling diamond tour before returning to your hotel.
