ITINERARY

Day 1 – 3 JOHANNESBURG – PHINDA PRIVATE GAME RESERVE 
Fly from Johannesburg to King Shaka International Airport, or Richards Bay Airport, on a scheduled domestic flight.  Upon arrival in Durban or Richards Bay you will be met by a representative who will transfer you to Phinda Private Game Reserve. 

Within reach of the warm Indian Ocean and the famous iSimangaliso/Greater St Lucia Wetland Park in northern KwaZulu-Natal, Phinda Private Game Reserve is known for its diverse habitats, exceptional, exclusive game viewing, and wide range of safari activities.

Phinda offers a fascinating variety of landscape and vegetation, and is home to an abundance of wildlife, including not only the Big Five, but many rarer species including the black rhino. With only a few lodges sharing the reserve, and expertly trained rangers and guides, guests are assured of fantastic game viewing, photographic opportunities, and extraordinary service. 

Adding to Phinda’s charms, the magical array of marine life in nearby Sodwana Bay is easily accessible, with scuba diving, fishing and even turtle watching just some of the activties available to guests. 

You will spend three nights at Phinda Mountain Lodge or Phinda Forest Lodge in a suite with en-suite bathroom.

Your stay includes three meals daily, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, scheduled safari activities, refreshments on game drives, nature walks (1 hour) accompanied by experienced armed trackers (subject to availability), emergency medical evacuation insurance and laundry. 

Day 4 – 6 UMHLANGA
After your morning game drive and breakfast at Phinda, you will be collected and transferred to the coastal town of Umhlanga in the KwaZulu-Natal province.  

This seaside town is heaven for sunworshippers and water enthusiasts.  With almost year-round sunshine and warm weather, and as well as warm seas, you’ll find Umhlanga an exceptional seaside retreat, offering plenty to see and do, or the perfect place to do nothing at all!

Umhlanga boasts world-class boutique stores – a shopper’s paradise – and also offers a wonderful selection of eateries and attractions, such as the Natal Sharks Board, professional golf courses and an array of watersports, such as scuba diving, deep-sea fishing, surfing and dolphin viewing.  

You will spend three nights at the beautiful Oyster Box Hotel, in a classic room with en-suite bathroom.

The Oyster Box Hotel is situated overlooking the historical and famous landmark, the Umhlanga lighthouse, and right on the beautiful Umhlanga Beach,  The Oyster Box has long been one of South Africa’s best-loved and most distinguished hotels, which occupies a special place in the hearts of the countless guests who have enjoyed its warmth, caring service and relaxed elegance since it first opening in 1947.

Your stay includes breakfast.

Day 7 JOHANNESBURG
After breakfast you will be transferred to King Shaka International Airport in time for your flight to O R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg.
